OEB joins grants scheme to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in businesses

The Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB) is participating in the "Grants Scheme for Encouraging Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Businesses".

It said the initiative is part of OEB's broader sustainable development strategy aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, as it acknowledges the growing challenges posed by climate change and the need for responsible actions to mitigate it.

"As part of this initiative, OEB commits to cutting greenhouse gas emissions from its activities by 20% by 2030, contributing to national targets," it said in an announcement.

Implementation, it said, includes upgrading equipment for greater energy efficiency, transitioning to electric vehicles, increasing renewable energy production for internal needs, and training staff to maintain high environmental standards.

"OEB remains dedicated to a sustainable future and encourages its member companies to accelerate their initiatives for the collective good," it concluded.
