Cyprus-US relations at their best, House President and US Ambassador agree

The President of the House of Representatives, Annita Demetriou, and the US Ambassador to Cyprus, Julie Fisher, have highlighted the continuous upgrading of relations between Cyprus and the US, which "are currently at their best."

According to a House statement after the two's 16 September meeting, they also agreed on the need for this impetus to be reflected at the parliamentary level through exchanges and other contacts.

It is added that they also exchanged views on issues related to specific areas of US-Cyprus strategic cooperation, as well as issues of mutual interest, in light of developments in the Middle East and the complex challenges to security and stability in the wider region.
