Leaders of Cyprus and UAE discuss energy, infrastructure and regional developments

The promotion of cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure and regional developments were among the issues that were discussed during the meeting between President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan.

A written statement by Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis states that the 11 September meeting took place following an invitation by the President of the UAE to President Christodoulides.

Among the issues they discussed were the promotion of cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure, regional developments, the further strengthening of bilateral relations and ways to accelerate strategic relations in order to achieve tangible results.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos, the Government Spokesman, Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raouna, Director of the Diplomatic Office of the President Doros Venezis and officials.

On behalf of the UAE, the meeting was attended by the Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The President of the Republic returns to Cyprus on the morning of 12 September.
