Registered unemployed persons down 10% annually in July

The number of unemployed persons, registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of July 2024, reached 11,877 persons, recording a drop of 9.9% or 1,310 persons, compared to July 2023, according to data published by CySTAT.

This annual decrease is attributed mainly to the sectors of financial and insurance activities, trade, construction, accommodation and food service activities, as well as to the decrease recorded for newcomers in the labour market.

Based on the seasonally adjusted data that show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for July 2024 reached 11,109 persons remaining at the same level in comparison to the previous month.
