Industrial turnover down 4.4% in March 2024, CySTAT says

The latest data released by CySTAT showed a decline in the Industrial Turnover Index for March 2024 compared to the same period last year.

The index, measured at 132.0 units (base 2021=100), recorded a decrease of 4.4%.

In manufacturing, the Industrial Turnover Index reached 130.2 units, marking a 1.5% decrease compared to March 2023. The electricity supply sector marked a significant decline of 18.4%.

However, the water supply and materials recovery sector saw an increase of 6.7%, while mining and quarrying recorded a rise of 1.8%.

The index for the period of January to March 2024 showed a slight uptick of 0.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
