Industrial output up by an annual 3.4% in March

Industrial Production in Cyprus rose by an annual 3.4% in March, marking annual gains for the eleventh consecutive month.

According to data published Cystat, the Industrial Production Index in March reached 107.8 units (base 2021=100).

For the period January – March 2024, the index recorded an increase of 4.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

In the manufacturing sector, the most significant positive changes compared to March 2023 were observed in the manufacturing of furniture and repair/installation of machinery and equipment with 11.9%, electronic and optical products and electrical equipment with 9%) and basic metals and fabricated metal products with 8.8%.

The most important annual declines were registered in the manufacturing of paper and paper products and printing with 8.9% and refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products and pharmaceutical products and preparations with 5.1%.
