Holguin will brief UN Security Council on her work in Cyprus

UNSG Special Envoy for Cyprus María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar will brief the Security Council on her work, as Deputy Spokesperson of the Secretary General, Farhan Haq said during the Press Briefing at UNHQ in New York.

Replying to a CNA question regarding the developments on the occasion of Holguin’s visit to Cyprus, as well as the report that she is going to prepare for the issue, Farhan Haq said that “Special Envoy of SG for Cyprus Ms. Holguin will brief the Security Council and keep it informed about her work.”

“These will be her next steps about the visit and the contacts she had” he added.

According to the UN, Holguin will meet Greek Foreign Minister, Giorgos Gerapetritis, on the morning of 14 May.
