US Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs to hold meetings in Nicosia

The USA's Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Rena Bitter, will be travelling to Nicosia, Frankfurt, Bucharest, and Sofia until 19 April, the US State Department has announced.

As noted in the media note, in Nicosia, Bucharest, and Sofia, Assistant Secretary Bitter "Will meet with host government officials to discuss further facilitating travel between our countries and other consular issues of mutual interest.  In all four cities, she will engage with embassy and consulate staff and observe consular operations."

Furthermore, the State Department said that "The trip underscores our deep and sustained commitment to the protection of US citizens overseas and the facilitation of legitimate travel and immigration to the United States."
