Building permits decline 0.5% y-o-y in January

The number of building permits issued in Cyprus declined by 0.5% year on year in January 2024, according to Cystat.

The total value of the issued permits dropped by 8.3% and total area declined by 2.4%, while the number of dwelling units marked an annual reduction of 11.1%.

The number of building permits amounted to 587 with the total value reaching €221.3 million and their total area amounting to 198,200 square metres.

These permits provide for the construction of 834 dwelling units.
