CIM Summit 2024: Index Funds and Corporate R&D

Index funds have become the investment vehicle of choice for the smart retail investor in recent decades, attractive for their low fees and diversified portfolios.

But as index funds gain greater control of an increasing number of firms, the governance implications of shareholders is an important parameter. These has caused various debates regarding the governance and decision making particularly for longer-term oriented investments.

During the CIM Summit 2024, Casidhe Troyer, Ph.D Assistant Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, will refer to these implications by discussing research and examining the relationship between index ownership and corporate R&D strategy, in her presentation “You Get What You Pay For: The Rise of Index Funds and Corporate R&D.”
