FIBA ​​EuroBasket trophy in Cyprus for 10 days

The FIBA EuroBasket trophy has arrived in Cyprus on the occasion of the upcoming match of the national team against France on 21 November.

According to a press release, the prestigious trophy will spend ten days in Cyprus in mid-November.

Through visits to all the cities, the goal is for sports fans to start getting into the atmosphere of the upcoming European Basketball Championship 2025 which will be co-hosted by our country, next summer.

Ahead of the final phase of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 which will be co-hosted by Cyprus, Latvia, Finland and Poland next August and September, the historic trophy, which lifted among others by Galis in 1987 and Kakiouzis in 2005, is already in Cyprus for the first time, ready to offer people the opportunity to see it up close and take photos with it.

On 21 November, the final stop of the visit of the FIBA EuroBasket trophy in Cyprus will be the “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria” arena, where the Cyprus National Team will face the silver Olympic medallists of 2024 and finalists in EuroBasket 2022, France, for the qualifiers of the event. Cyprus, together with the three others co-hosts, compete in the qualifiers, but have already secured their qualification to the final phase.

The Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF) and the Organizing Committee of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 in Cyprus are organising a series of trophy stops, with the aim of allowing as many people as possible to admire the trophy up close.

Between 11-15 November, the trophy will be at the Museum of the Cyprus Olympic Committee, in the Olympic House in Nicosia, where several students will have the opportunity to visit the Museum and see the trophy up close, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The public will be able to see the trophy on the following days and times, with giveaways including EuroBasket 2025 tickets taking place, in collaboration with the following malls:

Saturday 16/11, 10:00 – 13:00 Kings Avenue Mall, Paphos

Sunday 17/11, 10:00 – 14:00 MyMall, Limassol

Tuesday 19/11, 15:00 – 20:00 MyMall, Limassol

Wednesday 20/11, 15:00 – 20:00 Mall of Cyprus, Nicosia

In the upcoming days, the trophy will also be photographed at landmarks in Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos, at the under-renovation “Spyros Kyprianou” arena (where the EuroBasket matches will be held between August 28 and September 4), the offices of the sponsors of FIBA EuroBasket 2025 and CBF and at a practice session of the Cyprus National team, ahead of their preparation for the match against France.

As regards the sale of the tickets for the Group of Eurobasket 2025, which will take place in Cyprus next summer, has started since September.

The two ticket bundles on sale, for two, three and five matches, are the "Team Cyprus Ticket" and the "Team Partner country Ticket", for the Greek national team of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Individual match tickets, if remaining after the sale of the 'Team Ticket' bundles, will go on sale after the draw for the final round in March 2025.
