Finance Minister and Qatar Ambassador discuss ways to further enhance cooperation in various sectors

The Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, has met with the Ambassador of Qatar to Cyprus, Yousef Sultan Laram, during which they discussed ways to further enhance Cyprus-Qatar cooperation in sectors such as tourism, trade, energy, technology and the environment.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Finance on 12 November.

A press release issued by the Ministry stated that during the meeting, views were exchanged on bilateral relations between Cyprus and Qatar and ways to further strengthen them. In particular, the two officials referred to the excellent relations between the two countries and the need to continuously strengthen them for mutual benefit.

Keravnos and Laram agreed that there is significant room for further enhancing relations between the two countries in areas such as tourism, trade, energy, technology and environmental protection, the press release noted.

At the same time, they reviewed geopolitical developments and the Finance Minister briefed the Qatari Ambassador on various European issues, it is added.
