Contracts for €175m projects about to be signed ahead of announcement of more worth €696m

Contracts for major projects amounting to a value of €175m are anticipated to be signed within the next 12 months after being included in the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works budget for 2025, while more projects, with a total budget of €696m, are expected to be announced between the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025.
Of the €175 million projects, contracts for which will be signed in the next 12 months, ones reaching a value of €114 million concern Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works projects, while the remaining €61 million-worth of projects concern ones for other Ministries.
Projects in the bidding process
Among the main projects, which are in the bidding process, is Phase B3 of the Nicosia Perimetre Motorway, the second phase of the improvement of the existing Paphos - Polis Chrysochous road, as well as projects within the framework of the Larnaca Sustainable Mobility Plan and the Limassol Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan.
- Energy upgrade of the Building of the Audit Office of the Republic of Cyprus: €10 million.
- Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia: €10.4 million.
- Nicosia Ring Road Phase B3: €42.6 million.
- Implementation of Larnaca Sustainable Mobility Plan projects, implementation of bus lanes and cycle paths: €22.3 million.
- Implementation of Larnaca Sustainable Mobility Plan, Park and Ride projects: €4.4 million.
- Port and land facilities to serve aquaculture farmers in Pentakomos: €40.4 million.
- Priority projects of the Limassol Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, Phase A: €9.5 million.
- Priority projects of the Limassol Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, Phase B: €2.8 million.
- Implementation of Limassol Sustainable Mobility Plan projects, Park and Ride €3.9 million.
- Improvement of the existing Paphos - Polis Chrysochous road, B2 Phase: €4.1 million.
- Supply, installation and maintenance of a new Urban Traffic Management and Control System (UTC) in the Districts of Nicosia and Limassol: €8.5 million.
The €696 million projects to be opened for tender
The total budget of the main projects, which are expected to be announced at the end of 2024/beginning of 2025, amounts to €696 million, of which €391 million are related to Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works projects and €304.5 million related to projects for other Ministries.
Among them are important projects, such as the third phase of the Nicosia perimetre highway, the new building of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, the study/construction of the Deneia - Akaki - Astromeritis section, Phase A2 of the Limassol - Saittas highway, the new Closed Prison and the new Courthouse.
- Nicosia Ring Road Phase C: €101.2 million.
- Improvement of the Fterikoudi - Alona - Polistipos - Chandria road: €8 million.
- Ministry of Justice and Public Order: €29.9 million.
- Study/construction of the Denia - Akaki - Astromeritis section: €129.7 million.
- New Closed Prison: €35.1 million.
- New Courthouse: €119 million.
- Limassol-Saittas highway, construction of Phase A2: €83.3 million.
- Creation of a helipad in Lino community: €5.36 million.
- Improvement of the road Kato Mylos – Potamitissa – Dymon - Kyperounta, construction Phase A: €7.74 million.
