ΧΜ completes its third humanitarian mission to Uganda (pics)

XM, a global leader in the investment services industry, has once again demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by completing its third humanitarian mission to Uganda.

The mission marks the continuation of XM’s impactful work with local communities in the remote African country, which began seven years ago. This year’s mission aimed at improving educational infrastructure, supporting healthcare initiatives, and delivering essential supplies to those in need, has significantly improved the lives of the local community.

Its first destination was the Young Comrades School in the Wakiso district, where the opening of a new three-story wing—XM’s most ambitious project in Uganda to date—was celebrated. The new facility accommodates over 500 students, offering quality education in a well-equipped environment while creating job opportunities for Ugandan educators. During the visit, XM’s team also distributed laptops to the school’s teachers and provided food, clothing, and other essentials for the children. In a gesture of solidarity, the company also hosted a festive meal for all students and staff.

The next destination of the team was the village of Monte, where they connected with students who had been awarded XM scholarships to pursue higher education. XM’s unwavering commitment to these students, which underscores the company’s belief in empowering youth through education, is a testament to the positive impact of corporate social responsibility. The mission also included medical services provided by Pediatrician Dr. Argyris Argyriou and Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Solon Cleanthοus, who examined local children and administered vaccines. The visit concluded with recreational activities, including songs, educational games, and a friendly football match.

The mission’s final destination was at Agios Dimitrios School, where Dr. Argyriou and Dr. Cleanthous continued their health services by conducting vaccinations and delivering hygiene education. The school’s kitchen, donated by XM in 2019, played a central role in preparing meals for the children and their families. After lunch, the team organised activities that brought joy and laughter to the school’s students.

As XM’s presence and impact in Uganda continue to grow, the company reaffirms its commitment to enhancing lives through education, health, and community development initiatives. The living conditions of the children in the boarding schools have improved a lot with the help of XM, but to help these children even more, it is important that people support this initiative through the child sponsor program of AGAPIS HERIA group, which offers financial, material and moral support to the schools.
