Marina Hadjimanolis in Japan to promote Cypriot shipping

Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis is travelling to Japan on 8 January where she will have a series of meetings with ship-owners, as well as executives from shipping companies, credit institutions and shipyards.

Her visit is part of a concerted effort to promote and reinforce the Cypriot ship registry and overall shipping sector, and attract more shipping companies to the island.

During her visit to Japan, Hadjimanolis will attend the naming ceremonies of two newly built cargo ships of the company Safe Bulkers, which have been built according to the highest standards and modern environmental specifications and will be registered in the Register of Cyprus Ships.

The two ships will be named “Ammochostos” and “Kyrenia”, in a significant act of solidarity by the company marking the 50th anniversary of Turkey’s invasion of Cyprus.
