Limassol to get another mall

A new shopping mall is in the works for Limassol, this time in the Agios Athanasios municipality, to serve the surrounding communities.

Citing sources, InBusinessNews has reported that the architectural plans and relevant studies are currently being submitted so the necessary permits can be issued and the project can get underway.

According to the same sources, the majority of the land allocated for the project – spanning close to 45,000 sq. m. – belongs to the Papantoniou supermarket chain.

The news comes hot on the heels of plans by Atterbury to build another mall – the Mall of Limassol – in Mesa Gitonia, as well as current construction work to expand MyMall Limassol in Zakaki.

So according to the report, the major shareholders behind this new project are the same people who run Nicosia Mall as well as the Papantoniou supermarket chain.

The major shareholders in Nicosia Mall are Athienitis Contractors (33.5%), the Zorbas Group (16.9%), Voici La Mode Group (15.06%), Classmark Holdings Limited (11%), Morissona Holdings Limited (11%), PHC Franchised Restaurants (9.41%) and Athienitis Supermarket (3.76%).

Located in eastern Limassol, the new mall will be easily accessible from the highway and serve the surrounding municipalities and communities.
