Omega Channel has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights to the world's leading motor sport Formula 1 from the next season, 2026, until 2028 bringing coverage of the sport back to free television in Cyprus.
From Saturday's qualifying sessions to Sunday's checkered flag at each Grand Prix, all Formula 1 races will be broadcast live and exclusively through the Omega Channel frequency, with what the channel has described as high-quality television production, modern graphics, in-depth data analysis and rich journalistic content.
"The new era of Formula 1 in Cyprus begins on Omega Channel – with the same passion, more technology and even closer to the fanatical fans of speed who await the top championship in motorsports," a relevant announcement says, adding, "Stay tuned. The start will be given on the weekend of 7-8 March, 2026 with the 1st Grand Prix in Australia broadcast live, exclusively and in high definition on the Omega Channel."
The Formula 1 experience on Omega Channel continues throughout the week, with two thematic magazines dedicated to one previewing each Grand Prix, focusing on what viewers are going to see, and the second as a complete review, with the moments that stood out, and analysing what happened in the race.
At the same time, the Group is expanding Formula 1’s presence on radio and online, with a dedicated microsite and informative inserts on SuperSport 104 and the creation of special podcasts on the Tolkers platform exclusively dedicated to the sport. The podcasts will offer in-depth discussion, technical analysis and background information to Formula 1 fans and those who want to better understand the world of the sport.
