Petrolina plans Cyprus' biggest EV charging network through its pcharge brand

pcharge is the latest brand of the Petrolina Group, as part of the Cypriot petroleum company’s journey to become established as a leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions.

“Leveraging our Group's vast expertise in the energy sector, we are committed to embrace the green transition and invest in the future,” the company said. “We are actively expanding our network of AC and DC chargers across both public and private locations, while also deploying fast and ultra-fast chargers at Petrolina, Eni and Agip service stations, building the biggest EV charging network in Cyprus.”

Network development

The first ultra-fast charger (150kW upgradeable to 300kW) has been installed at the GSZ area service station in Larnaca. Provision of charging services at service stations will commence once the relevant law has been amended to allow such services to be provided at service stations (expected in the coming month).

“Our target is to have seven fast chargers installed in order to geographically cover the island before the end of 2023,” Petrolina said.

Plans include further significant investment in additional fast charging locations over the next two years.

Meanwhile, the installation of AC chargers at third party premises (such as corporations, large retail stores, municipality parking spaces, private parking places and any kind of publicly accessible points) is moving fast, the ultimate aim being to develop a strong network to offer comprehensive cover of EV charging needs.

pcharge platform and application

“Petrolina has teamed up with the best international EV charging platform in order to ensure quality management services,” the company said. “The dynamic capabilities of the charging points management platform provide a powerful tool for operation, billing, and reporting.”

At the same time, Petrolina is developing its own reliable, user-friendly mobile application for electric vehicle owners, offering them a seamless user experience.

Services

The services offered by pcharge include:

  1. Supply of chargers, technical study/design, installation, and maintenance.
  2. Management of charge points via the pcharge platform (CPO) - monitoring, billing, and data analysis.
  3. Provision of e-mobility services (EMSP) - payment methods, roaming, CRM.
  4. Fleet management system
