KIOS: On the lookout for an ICT Law Researcher

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus (UCY) is looking to recruit an ICT Law Researcher, for full-time employment.

The successful candidate will conduct research in a variety of research projects, national and EU-funded, regarding legal and ethical aspects of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Unmanned Aircraft Systems and similar technologies. They may also provide research assistance in other areas of EU and Cypriot private law, especially air law, tort law and insurance law.
KIOS is UCY’s largest research centre. In 2017, it was upgraded to a European Research Centre of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project. Currently, the Centre employs more than 180 people who are supported by externally funded research and innovation projects.

Such infrastructures include power and energy systems, water networks, transportation networks, telecommunication networks and emergency management and response. The Centre instigates interdisciplinary interaction and promotes collaboration between industry, academia, and research organisations in high-tech areas of global importance.”

To qualify for the position, candidates must have a Law Degree, proven experience in research projects, and very good knowledge of EU private law.
The position is on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, with a 6-month probation period, which is renewable based on satisfactory performance evaluation.

The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience and will be between €1,400-€1,800. From this amount, employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted.
