President to begin twο-day working visit to Israel

Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides is travelling to Israel for a two-day working visit, the Presidency has announced.

Right after his 10 May afternoon arrival Israel, he will visit the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation in Tel Aviv and then travel to Jerusalem.

On the morning of 11 May, the President will be received by the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog. The two men will have a private meeting to be followed by talks between the delegations of the two countries. Right after, President Christodoulides will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then the two leaders will participate in talks with their delegations.

At noon, President Christodoulides will attend a luncheon to be hosted in his honor by Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.

In the early afternoon, the President of the Republic will visit the Museum at the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Centre, where he will attend a special commemoration ceremony that will take place as part of his visit there.

President Christodoulides will offer the Museum archival material about the Jews who were hosted in Cyprus and then moved to Israel.

The President of the Republic will also visit the Patriarchate of Jerusalem and along with the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, will go on a Pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulcher. Afterwards, the President of the Republic and the Patriarch will have a private meeting at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied to Israel by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy, the Director of his Press Office and other officials.

He returns to Cyprus on the evening of 11 May.
