Total employment up in Q4 2022

Total employment increased by 3% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to Q4 of 2021, according to the Cyprus Statistical Service.

In numbers, an estimated 461,345 persons were employed in the last quarter of 2022, of whom 410,634 employees and 50,711 self-employed.

The most significant percentage rises were observed in the categories Information and Communication, Accommodation and Food Services, Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities, and Administrative and Supporting Service Activities.

In total, these people worked an estimated 211.2 million hours, which was up by 3.5% compared with the fourth quarter of 2021. Here, the most significant percentage increases were observed in Accommodation and Food Services, Information and Communication, Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities and Administrative and Supporting Service Activities.
