President Anastasiades To Be Received By King Charles At Balmoral Castle On Monday

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades will be received by King Charles at Balmoral Castle on Monday, a statement by the Head of his press office, Andreas Iosif, says.

The statement notes that the President will brief King Charles about the latest developments in the Cyprus issue and Turkey's provocations in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Bilateral relations, climate crisis and energy crisis, following Russia’s invasion in Ukraine, will also be on the agenda.

The meeting is set to take place at 12:30 pm Cyprus time.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. Repeated rounds of UN-led peace talks have so far failed to yield results.

The latest round of negotiations, in July 2017 at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana ended inconclusively.
