Larnaca declared 'Green City' of Cyprus for 2023

Larnaca has been declared as the 'Green City' of Cyprus for 2023 and according to a municipality press release, it was automatically included in the Network of Green Cities and Communities of Cyprus by the Cyprus Center for Environmental Research and Education (CYCERE).

It is added that Larnaca was chosen for the projects 'Redevelopment of the courtyard and restoration of part of the Zouhouri building complex' in the 'Culture and Environment' category and 'Road Rehabilitation and Disability Facilities in Larnaca Centre' in the 'Sustainable Traffic and Transport' category for the year 2023.

The awarding of the Green Flags will take place at a special official ceremony to be held on 31 January 2024 at the Presidential Palace and the presentation will be made by the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides, the press release concludes.
