RIF allocates €1.75m to attract talent to Cypriot businesses

The Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) has announced the launch of a new programme, aimed at introducing specialised, scientific talent to Cypriot businesses.

RIF’s ‘PhD in industry’ programme has been allocated a total budget of €1.75m, with a maximum funding cap of €150,000 per project.

The programme offers businesses the opportunity to establish or enhance their Research and Development (R&D) departments by hiring specialised talent or boosting the knowledge of their existing staff.

Priority will be given to proposals that haven’t received funding from RIF or other European programmes from 2016 onwards. Medium and large enterprises stand out as potential beneficiaries, according to the foundation.

The scope of the programme spans life sciences, physical sciences and Engineering, extending to applications in social and human sciences within these scientific fields.

Meanwhile, RIF said that those who receive funding will also gain automatic access to its complimentary innovation and knowledge transfer support services.

RIF will be accepting proposals through its IRIS platform up until 29 March 2024.
