Milestones from 2nd & 3rd tranche of NRRP completed, says Spokesman Letymbiotis

The 16 milestones of the 2nd tranche and the 22 milestones of the 3rd tranche of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan have been successfully completed, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis has said.

Speaking on 12 December, he noted that the Republic of Cyprus' goal remains not only not to lose a single euro from the Plan, but for many more, important reforms to be implemented.

Speaking during the regular briefing of journalists, he said the Republic of Cyprus will send in the next few days the two payment requests totalling 152.3 million euro, 63.3 million for the 2nd instalment and 89 million for the 3rd instalment.

In addition, at the end of the year the Republic of Cyprus is expected to receive the €21 million advance payment from RepowerEU, he said. Only 8 out of 27 Member States have already submitted the 3rd payment request, the Spokesman noted, while 12 have submitted the 2nd request, he said. The implementation of the Recovery Plan has been significantly accelerated, with close cooperation between the executive and the legislature, he added.

He underlined that "the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan is a very important milestone for the modernisation of our country and to date, very important reforms have already been implemented."

The aim of the Republic of Cyprus, he said, "remains not only not to lose a single euro from the Plan in terms of raising resources, but perhaps much more, to be able to implement these very important reforms that aim to modernize our country, to make Cyprus an even more modern, more digital European state."
