Baker Tilly Cyprus is hiring a Credit Controller

Baker Tilly South East Europe is inviting applications “from enthusiastic and hard-working individuals” to join its Nicosia office in the position of Credit Controller.

According to the company, “The Credit Controller plays a critical role in managing the financial health of the professional services firm by overseeing the credit and collections processes. They are responsible for ensuring that outstanding client invoices are collected promptly, minimising bad debt, and maintaining positive client relationships. The Credit Controller works closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances.”

The position’s duties and responsibilities are:

  • Client Credit Assessment:
  • Establish appropriate credit limits for clients and communicate these limits to relevant departments.
  • Invoice Management:
  • Ensure that all invoices are generated and sent to clients in a timely manner.
  • Verify invoice accuracy, including billing details and amounts.
  • Address any invoice discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Collections:
  • Monitor accounts receivable and track outstanding balances.
  • Contact clients via phone, email, or mail to follow up on overdue payments.
  • Negotiate payment plans and terms when necessary.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable ageing and collections status.
  • Provide management with insights and recommendations for improving the credit control process.
  • Credit Policy Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with the firm’s credit and collections policies.
  • Recommend updates or changes to credit policies as necessary.

Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred); proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable management of at least five years; strong knowledge of credit control principles, practices, and regulations; excellent communication and negotiation skills; proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel; attention to detail and strong organisational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and ability to take initiative and exercise good judgement.
