Maria Michail to serve as new Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the UN

Ambassador of Cyprus to Austria, Maria Michail, will be the next Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the UN, following the retirement of Andreas Hadjichrysanthou.

Hadjichrysanthou wrote on his account on 'X' that for the first time ever a woman will be heading the Permanent Representation of Cyprus to the UN.

“So pleased that my successor will be @MichailmariaCY, a most capable diplomat and good friend... and delighted that for the first time ever a #woman will be heading the @CyprusinUN,” Hadjichrysanthou said.
