Marios Tannousis: Growing attendance indicates importance of Summit

In his keynote speech at the 9th International Funds Summit & EXPO currently underway in Limassol, Marios Tannousis, Vice Chairman, CEO, Invest Cyprus, said that Invest Cyprus was playing its role in helping Cyprus through turbulent global times.

In his keynote speech entitled ‘Investment Environment in Cyprus: Challenges and Perspectives,’ Tannousis noted the difficulties of the past few years, some of which are ongoing, and underlined that the funds sector was included in Invest Cyprus’ efforts.

Tannousis expressed optimism for the future and said that while the tech and innovation sector was small, it was able to absorb changes and embrace growth earlier than may have been anticipated.

He also underlined a collaborative spirit had been instrumental for growth, innovation and stability in Cyprus.

He also noted that beyond finances, the current era also placed emphasis on progress for the planet and its people.

On the Summit itself, Tannousis noted that the increased number of delegates at this year’s Summit was an indication of the importance of its role.

He went on to say that sustainability now played a wider role in finance and investment.

“Let this Summit be more than just a learning experience, let it be a call of action to innovate and lead,” Tannousis said, adding that the Invest Cyprus was on hand to be of any assistance.
