During the bilateral meeting, the two Ministers exchanged views on their countries’ priorities in their respective areas of responsibility, focusing on the exchange of expertise, the use of digital tools and the promotion of practical cooperation between the competent services.
According to a press release by Cyprus' Ministry of Labour, particular emphasis was placed on the digitalisation of labour procedures, with a presentation of the experience of Cyprus in operating the ERGANI information system. Discussions also covered labour inspection, occupational safety and health, the prevention of undeclared work, social security and the implementation of active employment policies.
The two sides examined their respective social security and pension systems and exchanged views on the next steps towards advancing technical consultations for the conclusion of a bilateral social security agreement. The agreement aims to provide better protection for the social security rights of people who work or have worked in the two countries.
Moushiouttas reaffirmed the Republic of Cyprus’s support for Moldova’s European path, highlighting the importance of advancing its accession negotiations and progress towards joining the European Union (EU).
