Cyprus participated with an information stand at the European SME Congress which took place in Katowice, Poland, between 27 and 28 October.
The stand was organised by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry in cooperation with Republic's Trade Centre in Warsaw.
The congress is among the most important European expos dedicated to small and medium size businesses, the Ministry said in a press release.
Cyprus' stand "was visited by a significant number of interested parties, which were briefed about the Cypriot economy's emerging sectors of growth, as well as the comparative advantages the country offers as an international business and investment centre," the press release added.
Information and technology, professional services and real estate were areas on which particular interest was expressed, it said.
Cyprus' participation in this congress and expo is organised in the context of the Ministry's actions to promote the country as an attractive international business centre and an investment destination, as well as showcasing business opportunities offered to foreign businesses and investors, it concludes.
