A country’s strategic location gains economic value when it translates into investment, trade and business partnerships. For Cyprus, the challenge is to capitalise on its European Union membership, ties with the United States and proximity to the Middle East to strengthen its position in regional economic networks.
That challenge will take centre stage during the opening session of the AmCham Annual Conference, taking place on 6 November 2026 at The Landmark Nicosia. Titled “Cyprus at the Crossroads: Advancing Transatlantic Cooperation and Regional Connectivity,” the session will set the context for examining Cyprus’s role as a meeting point for European, American and regional partners.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Marios Kapiris, President of AmCham Cyprus; Stavros Stavrou, President of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI); Evgenios Evgeniou, Chairman of Invest Cyprus; and Konstantinos Ioannou, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus.
Their participation brings together four complementary perspectives: Cyprus–US business relations, international market access for Cypriot companies, foreign investment attraction and the public policies that support economic activity.
The central question is how these elements can work together. Building international partnerships requires a dependable business environment, effective institutions and clear conditions for investment. For companies considering Cyprus as a base for regional operations, these factors determine the distance between initial interest and a final commitment.
The opening session will highlight the importance of dialogue and partnerships in strengthening connections between Europe, the United States and the Eastern Mediterranean. It will also place the Cypriot business community within that discussion, focusing on the opportunities that closer international economic cooperation can create.
For Cyprus, the objective is clear: to turn its location and international relationships into a lasting economic advantage. The opening remarks at the AmCham Annual Conference will frame that ambition, connecting strategic priorities with the practical needs of business.
