Capital is looking for its next destination. Businesses need financing, while investors demand credible returns, greater transparency and disciplined risk management. For alternative investment funds, the opportunity is substantial. So is the pressure to demonstrate how investment strategies translate into lasting economic value.
Where will capital flow next? How will financing costs and liquidity influence investment decisions? And what will distinguish successful fund managers in the coming cycle?
These questions will frame the 12th International Funds Summit, taking place on 16 November 2026 at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Limassol. Under the theme “The European Alternative Funds Landscape”, the Summit will bring together fund managers, institutional investors, policymakers and financial services professionals for a focused exchange on investment opportunities and industry developments.
The investment outlook for 2027 provides the starting point. Discussions will examine the macroeconomic forces shaping European private markets, changing valuations and institutional allocation priorities. For delegates, the objective is practical: understanding how these developments affect fundraising, portfolio construction and investment deployment.
Private credit will feature prominently. Sessions will explore direct lending, asset-backed finance and specialised credit strategies, alongside financing opportunities in infrastructure and real assets. Credit risk assessment will be central to the discussion, linking the search for yield with the quality and resilience of underlying investments.
In private equity, attention will turn to value creation and the return of capital to investors. Longer holding periods, evolving exit routes and financing solutions raise questions about when to retain an investment and when to sell. The programme will examine the relationship between reported performance, realised proceeds and investor distributions.
Regulation is another critical consideration. AIFMD II, cross-border distribution and competition between fund jurisdictions will be examined through their implications for operating models, fundraising and market access. The discussion will connect regulatory developments with the commercial decisions facing alternative fund managers.
The international agenda includes India as an investment destination, with attention to technology, infrastructure, renewable energy and healthcare. Delegates will also explore the potential use of Cyprus alternative investment funds for India-focused strategies.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure are opening new possibilities in investment analysis, fund operations and investor engagement. The Summit will examine their practical applications and implications for the next generation of investment platforms.
For Cyprus, these discussions connect with its ambition to strengthen its position as a European funds jurisdiction serving international investment strategies.
With more than 30 speakers, over 350 expected participants and representation from more than 50 companies, the Summit offers opportunities to compare approaches, exchange expertise and develop professional relationships across the investment ecosystem.
Proceedings will be conducted in English, with participants able to earn up to five CPD units.
For professionals preparing for the next investment cycle, Limassol is a meeting point.
