Foreign Affairs Minister Constantinos Kombos is travelling to Manila for an official visit, marking the first visit by a Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus to the Philippines, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit is taking place as part of efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations between Cyprus and the Philippines and expand cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, it said.
While in Manila, Kombos will meet with counterpart Theresa Lazaro. “The talks will focus on bilateral relations and prospects for further deepening them, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest,” the Ministry's statement said.
According to the statement, the meeting follows contacts between the two Foreign Ministers in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2025 and the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in September 2026.
