Wizz Air, has operated the first inaugural flight of its new direct route between Larnaca and Madrid.
Following the successful launch of Wizz Air’s Larnaca–Barcelona connection, the new direct service to the Spanish capital opens up further opportunities for travellers while strengthening ties between the two countries.

To mark the launch of the new air connection, Hermes Airports hosted a special event at the departure gate of the inaugural flight at Larnaca Airport, attended by Wizz Air representatives. Passengers travelling on the first flight were treated to celebratory refreshments ahead of departure, joining in a special moment to commemorate the launch of the new route. The new route will operate three times per week and is expected to support tourism, trade and business travel between Cyprus and Spain, offering passengers even greater choice and flexibility while further strengthening Larnaca’s role as a growing hub for European connectivity.
At the same time, the new service highlights Wizz Air’s continued commitment to expanding affordable and reliable air travel across the region.
