Cyprus and the Central African Republic signed a Joint Communiqué in New York on Monday, establishing diplomatic relations, Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos said in a post on X.
The Minister noted that he held a "fruitful discussion" with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Francophone Affairs of the Central African Republic, Sylvie Baïpo-Temon.
The Minister wrote that he was "delighted to sign the Joint Communiqué, establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Cyprus and Central African Republic," and that he is looking forward to working together to identify areas of shared interest and opportunities for cooperation.
Earlier, the Minister kicked off his bilateral meetings in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, with an encounter with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, Sara Beysolow Nyanti.
As he noted in another post on X, during the meeting the two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Political Consultations between Cyprus and Liberia, paving the way for advancing bilateral relations, with a focus on areas such as the economy, education, and shipping.
