Destination Fitness and Nicholas Zoe Foundation join forces to ‘Move for Hope’ this Gold September

Destination Fitness and the Nicholas Zoe Foundation are joining forces for a second consecutive year to ‘Move for Hope’, a month-long fundraising and awareness campaign in honour of Gold September, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Throughout September, the initiative will bring together athletes, gym members, businesses and the wider public to raise vital funds for a pioneering pediatric cancer research supported by the Nicholas Zoe Foundation at Boston Children’s Hospital. The research aims to help redefine the landscape of pediatric cancer through faster diagnosis and less invasive treatments.

‘At Destination Fitness, we move for hope—towards a destination where no child suffers,’ said Nicos Mavroudes, Founder of Destination Fitness. ‘This campaign transforms the discipline and resilience we build through training into meaningful support for children whose lives have been interrupted by cancer. Every step, every kilometre and every donation can make a difference.’

The campaign’s core message, Strength-to-Strength, invites people to turn movement into meaningful action. Participants are encouraged to run, walk and challenge themselves for a cause that calls for collective strength- while raising essential funds and awareness for the Nicholas Zoe Foundation.

Key activities include the 10,000 km Treadmill Challenge, through which Destination Fitness members will aim to complete a collective 10,000 kms throughout September, and the Destination Olympus Ultra Run on 26–27 September.

During the flagship challenge, eight elite runners will set off from Destination Fitness in Nicosia and cover 85 kms to Mount Olympus in Troodos, Cyprus’ highest peak. With a total elevation gain of 2,160 meters, they will carry the Move More Torch- a symbol of endurance, determination and hope. The public and businesses are invited to sponsor one or more kms of the route, helping to fund every mile of hope.

Additional in-gym fundraising initiatives include a €1 donation for every new September membership, the special Golden Smoothie at the Destination Fitness bar—with all net proceeds donated to the Foundation—and limited-edition ‘We Move for Hope’ training towels.

The public can support the campaign by sponsoring kilometers, making a donation via www.nicholaszoe.com—using the reference “Destination Fitness”—purchasing campaign merchandise or visiting Destination Fitness throughout September.

We Move for Hope. Join the movement. And let every contribution bring us closer to the only Destination that matters: a future where no child suffers.
