Panikkos Vakkou is expected to be appointed to the position of Executive Director of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Cyprus.

From January 2024 until he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission in May 2024, Vakkou held the position of non-executive member of the CySEC.
From September 2022 to May 2024, he served as Operations Manager and Credit Risk Management Manager at Haogen Technologies.
He is also a CFA Charterholder. He previously worked as a director at RiskMatrix, a regional partner of Moody's Analytics (2016-2022).
Vakkou also has an extensive background in the banking sector.
It is clarified that the official announcement is likely to be made after the Cabinet meeting on 10 September.
