Chevron Cyprus and SPE Cyprus offer two full postgraduate scholarships

Chevron Cyprus continues to support the development and advancement of the new generation of professionals in the energy sector, through a series of initiatives that strengthen emerging talents and promote opportunities for further development in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

As part of this commitment, Chevron Cyprus, in collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE - Cyprus Section), is offering two full scholarships covering tuition fees for postgraduate (MSc) programs to graduates who will begin their studies in Cyprus in the fall of 2026.

The aim of the initiative is to encourage talented young engineers to continue their studies and acquire the specialized knowledge required to contribute to both the oil and gas industry and the broader energy sector.

Interested candidates must have a minimum graduation grade of 3.2 (or equivalent) from their undergraduate program, have secured an unconditional offer of admission to a university in Cyprus, and submit a detailed letter of interest (Statement of Purpose), in which they will present their academic and professional goals.

Applications are open to postgraduate programs in any field of Engineering, with priority given to Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering programs, as well as research subjects related to the oil and gas industry or the broader energy sector.

In addition, candidates must be registered members of the SPE Student Branch or the SPE Cyprus Section, begin their graduate studies in the fall of 2026, and not receive another scholarship covering the same tuition fees.

The application deadline is August 31, 2026, with the beneficiaries being announced on 11 September, 2026. Tuition fees will be paid directly to the universities during the last week of September 2026. More information on the participation criteria and the application process is available at the link or by email at section@specyprus.com.

At the same time, Chevron Cyprus supports the Cyprus Chapter of SPE, funding five awards for the top Engineering students who completed their studies in undergraduate and postgraduate programs during the 2025-2026 academic year, recognising their academic excellence and commitment to the engineering profession.

Chevron Cyprus is also promoting greater participation of women in STEM fields, through a partnership with Frederick University. In this context, it is offering three full scholarships to first-year female students for the 2026-2027 academic year. The program aims to support young women who choose studies and careers in STEM fields, contributing to the creation of a more diverse and inclusive workforce for the future.

Chevron Cyprus Director, Basil Allam, stated: “At Chevron Cyprus we believe that investing in talented young engineers is an investment in the future of the energy industry. Through this scholarship program, we aspire to enable tomorrow's professionals to pursue careers in STEM fields, develop innovative solutions and submit new ideas that will contribute to shaping the future of the energy industry."
