Due to the summer vacation period, the deadline for submitting VAT returns and paying the VAT due for the period ending on 30 June 2026, as well as for submitting the Summary Table (VIES) for the period relating to the month of July 2026, has been extended to 20 August, 2026, following a decision by the Tax Commissioner, Soteris Markides.
According to an announcement from the Tax Department, after 20 August 2026, the submission of the VAT return, the payment of the VAT due, and the submission of the aforementioned Summary Table ((VAT Information Exchange System-VIES) will be considered overdue and will be subject to financial charges and additional tax.
Specifically, a fine of €100 will be imposed for failure to submit the VAT return on time, an additional tax of 10% charged on the VAT due, and a €50 fine imposed for failure to submit the Summary Table (VIES) on time.
