Agriculture Minister Maria Panagiotou is set to step down from her position, Deputy Government Spokesman Yiannis Antoniou confirmed on Friday, as she prepares to transition into a role in the education sector.
Speaking to Omega channel, Antoniou said that “at this moment, the fact before us is that the agriculture minister must be replaced, as she will take up a position in education.”
He added that while he has “information” and “understands certain things,” official announcements regarding ministerial appointments or dismissals remain the prerogative of the President.
