The number of job vacancies reached 14,000 in the first quarter of 2026, with the percentage of vacancies in relation to total employees and vacancies standing at 2.8%.
According to CySTAT data, the highest percentages of vacancies in terms of total employees and vacancies are observed in sectors of Arts, Sports and Recreation (5.1%), Construction (4.7%) and Accommodation and Food Service Activities (4.0%).
The sectors with the most jobs
In numbers, most vacancies (2,649) are observed in Wholesale and Retail Trade, while 2,189 are recorded in Accommodation and Food Service Activities.
There were 1,997 job vacancies in Construction, 1,086 in Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities, while 922 vacancies were recorded in Public Administration and Defence, Compulsory Social Security and 905 vacancies in Manufacturing.
Job vacancies in Administrative and Support Service Activities amounted to 668, while in Education and Transportation and Storage they amounted to 589 and 567, respectively.
In the Arts, Sports and Recreatio, 547 vacancies were recorded in the first quarter, while 530 vacancies were observed in Telecommunication, Computer Programming, Consulting, Computing Infrastructure and Other Information Service Activities.
The sectors with the fewest positions
The Mining and Quarrying sector has just three vacancies, while 34 vacancies are observed in the Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply sector.
The number of job vacancies in Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities rose to 48.
