Finance Minister Makis Keravnos met with Ontario's Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade and Chair of the Management Board of Cabinet, Victor Anthony Fedeli, during which the two sides discussed bilateral economic and trade relations between Cyprus and Canada.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the 18 June meeting in Nicosia included an exchange of views on international economic developments and ways to further enhance cooperation between the two countries. Emphasis was placed on expanding trade and economic links and promoting new investment opportunities.
During the discussions, Fedeli praised the performance of the Cypriot economy and stressed the importance of further strengthening economic relations between Cyprus and Canada, especially through investments in the Republic of Cyprus.
Keravnos, on his part, welcomed the interest shown in investing in Cyprus and highlighted the country's advantages as an investment destination, noting that its strategic location enables it to serve as a gateway for investments into the European Union.
