The growing defence industry collaboration between members of the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (CARIE) and the Cyprus Defence and Space Industry Cluster (CyDSIC) and the Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defence & Security AIAD was in the spotlight of the 1st Cyprus-Italy Business Roundtable.
In a post on LinkedIn, CARIE noted that the event took place in the presence of HE Antonio Tajani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, and Irene Piki, Deputy Minister to the President of Cyprus.
“Following the MOU signed between CARIE & Cyprus Defence & Space Industry Cluster (CyDSIC) and the Italian Industries Federation for Aerospace, Defence & Security (AIAD), CARIE president Dr. Tasos Kounoudes presented the rapidly growing defence industry cooperation between the two countries. The members of the two associations are collaborating in 42 European Defence contracts with a total value exceeding €800m,” the post noted.
“We thank the Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Italian-Cypriot Chamber of Commerce, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Embassy of Italy in Cyprus Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale for the excellent organisation, as well as Invest Cyprus - CIPA, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and ITA - Italian Trade Agency for their strong support to the Cyprus–Italy industrial collaboration,” it concluded.
