A total of €36,152 in 16 bounced cheques in April, Central Bank of Cyprus says

A total of 16 bounced cheques were presented in April, with a total value of €36,152, according to data published by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

According to entries made in the preliminary list, the 16 cheques concerned eight legal entities and three natural persons.

Furthermore, in April, a total of 16 persons were registered in the Central Information Register (CIR), of which five were legal entities, three were natural persons, and eight were natural persons controlling legal entities.

In the first four months of 2026, a total of 59 bounced cheques were presented, amounting to €178,476, compared to 84 bounced cheques worth €179,424 that had been presented in the corresponding period of 2025.

Additionally, during the same period, 48 persons were registered in the CIR, including 19 legal entities, six natural persons, and 23 natural persons controlling legal entities. In the first quarter of 2025, 38 persons had been registered: 15 legal entities, seven natural persons, and 16 natural persons controlling legal entities.
