Invest Cyprus, fDi Intelligence and the Financial Times host closed-door roundtable on Cyprus’s investment landscape

Invest Cyprus organised yesterday, 4 May 2026, a closed-door roundtable at The Westin, Washington National Harbor, in collaboration with fDi Intelligence and the Financial Times. The event, titled “FDI shifts and the future of Europe’s investment landscape – Regulatory and investment conditions in Cyprus”, the fourth in the series of joint initiatives with fDi Intelligence and FT Locations, chaired by Danielle Myles, Senior Editor at fDi Intelligence. Founders and investors gathered to examine how Cyprus can serve as a strategic EU entry point for US technology companies navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Nicodemos Damianou, PhD, took part in the discussion, underscoring the Government’s commitment to attracting quality investment and strengthening Cyprus’s position as a technology destination. On the sidelines, Invest Cyprus is also present at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, using the occasion to promote Cyprus and engage directly with companies considering a European base.

Cyprus’s growing appeal to technology companies is backed by concrete results. The arrival of Tenstorrent, the launch of the Plug and Play Tech Center and the strategic partnership with NVIDIA for a national supercomputer are among the tangible outcomes of a sustained effort to position Cyprus as a leading technology hub. Lia Riris, Deputy CEO of Invest Cyprus, stated: “ICT is one of the fastest growing sectors in Cyprus and one of the most significant contributors to our economy. Promoting it in the United States - a market where we are seeing increasing interest and concrete action towards Cyprus-  is both a priority and an opportunity. The companies we met are looking for an EU base that is straightforward to operate from, with a clear legal and tax framework and a government that is actively investing in innovation. We are here to show them that Cyprus fits that description.”
