EU Fisheries Ministers and officials of the fisheries sector convene in Nicosia on Tuesday, 5 May, for the Informal Meeting of Ministers for Fisheries, following the Informal Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture. Their meeting will focus on the Common Fisheries Policy.
Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Maria Panayiotou, will chair the meeting. EU Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, Costas Kadis, will present the main outcomes of the evaluation of the Common Fisheries Policy. This will be followed by an exchange of views among Ministers.
EU ministers will have the opportunity to reflect collectively on how the policy has performed over the past decade and how it can continue to respond effectively to the evolving realities.
