Industrial output prices slightly down in March on an annual basis

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for March 2026 reached 121 units (base 2021=100), recording a decrease of 0.6%, compared to the same month of 2025, according to data published by CySTAT.

According to the official data, an increase was recorded in the sectors of mining and quarrying (1.6%), manufacturing (1.3%) and water supply and materials recovery (0.8%) while a decrease was shown in the electricity supply sector by 9%.

By division of economic activity in manufacturing, in March 2026 compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, increases were recorded in the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (6.5%), the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (4.7%), the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (1.7%), the manufacture of wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture (1.1%) and the manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco products (1%), while a decrease was recorded in the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-0.3%).

Compared to February 2026, a decrease of 1% was recorded. The index remained stable in mining and quarrying, while it showed an increase in water supply and materials recovery by 0.7% and in manufacturing by 0.2%. A decrease was recorded in electricity supply (-6.9%). 

For the period January-March 2026, the index remained unchanged compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
