Industrial producer prices in Cyprus increase by 1.1%, according to Eurostat

Cyprus recorded an increase of 0.2% in industrial producer prices in February 2026 compared with January of the same year, according to data published by Eurostat. On an annual basis, Cyprus posted an increase of 1.1% compared with February 2025.

In contrast, in the euro area industrial producer prices decreased by 0.7% on a monthly basis and by 3.0% on an annual basis, while in the European Union the monthly decline was 0.5% and the annual decrease 2.7%. In January 2026, prices had increased by 0.8% in both the euro area and the EU.

In the euro area in February, in monthly comparison by main industrial grouping, energy prices decreased by 2.4%, while prices for intermediate goods increased by 0.3%, for capital goods by 0.3%, for durable consumer goods by 0.2%, and for non-durable consumer goods decreased by 0.2%. Prices in total industry excluding energy increased by 0.1%. In the EU, the monthly picture was similar, with energy prices decreasing by 1.8%, intermediate goods increasing by 0.3%, capital goods by 0.2%, durable consumer goods by 0.3%, and non-durable consumer goods decreasing by 0.2%.

As reported on an annual basis in the euro area, energy prices recorded a decline of 11.7%, while prices for intermediate goods increased by 1.3%, for capital goods by 1.6%, for durable consumer goods by 2.5%, and for non-durable consumer goods by 0.2%. In the EU, the annual picture was similar, with energy decreasing by 10.5%, intermediate goods increasing by 1.0%, capital goods by 1.5%, durable consumer goods by 2.3%, and non-durable consumer goods by 0.2%.

Among EU Member States, the largest monthly decreases in industrial prices were recorded in Spain (-3.1%), Ireland (-2.6%), and Portugal (-1.8%), while the highest increases were observed in Croatia (+3.8%), Finland (+2.7%), and Lithuania (+1.8%). Cyprus recorded a monthly increase of 0.2%, placing it among the moderate positive changes in the EU.

In the annual comparison, the largest decreases in industrial producer prices were observed in Spain (-7.0%), Ireland (-4.6%), and Portugal (-4.5%), while the highest increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+9.2%), Finland (+7.9%), and Sweden (+3.5%). Cyprus recorded an increase of 1.1% in the overall industrial producer price index on an annual basis.
