Crop produce prices rise, animal product prices down in third quarter of 2025

The crop production price index recorded an annual increase of 3.24% during the third quarter of 2025, compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024, according to data published on Friday by the Statistical Service (Cystat).

At the same time, the price index for livestock production decreased by 2.44%.

Regarding crop production, the largest increase compared to the same quarter last year was recorded in the price of grapes (49.90%), barley (34.41%), oats (34.40%), tropical fruits (34.13%), and local fruits and trees (33.86%).

Conversely, the largest decrease was recorded in the price of tomatoes (39.27%), fresh vegetables (30.51%), and other vegetables (27.58%).

As for livestock production, the largest increase in the third quarter of 2025 was recorded in the price of beef (19.25%), while the largest decrease was recorded in the price of pork (22.94%).

The Statistical Service also announced data for the price index of the means of agricultural production, which decreased by 3.91% in the third quarter of 2025.

Specifically, the largest decreases were recorded in electricity (11.54%), energy and lubricants (9.59%), motor fuels (8.03%), veterinary expenses (7.2%), and animal feeding stuffs (6.61%).

On the other hand, increases were recorded in seeds and planting stock (6.25%) and building maintenance (5.65%).
