A total of five flights to the Republic of Cyprus were carried out and 213 people were assisted as part of efforts for the safe evacuation and repatriation of Cypriot citizens from countries in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that, as part of actions for the safe evacuation and repatriation of Cypriot citizens from countries in the Middle East, due to developments in the region, a total of five flights to the Republic of Cyprus were operated—one chartered by the state and four commercial—through which 213 people were assisted.
“These returns were made possible following coordination and cooperation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Diplomatic Missions in the region, the competent authorities of other countries, as well as airlines, making use of both available commercial flights and a charter flight,” the statement added.
